As there are plenty of specific protocols for library preparation and Next Generation Sequencing available we cannot provide a complete summary of costs calculations on the website. Therefore, this is just a brief overview for the most requested protocols. Please feel free to contact us for detailed information and current cost estimations for your sequencing project.
Please consider, that in case of placing an order costs for kits, consumables, the sequencing run and overheads (e.g. personnel, maintenance etc.) will arise. Please make sure that you are allowed to pay these different types of costs from your specific account (PSP-Element). If you are not sure about that, do not hesitate to contact us.
3´-mRNA Sequencing (expression analysis):
This is an appropriate protocol for comparing varying expression levels in different sample groups (like treated vs. untreated or healthy vs. affected). Here, the costs for sample preparation, which is done by us, is already included in the calculation. If your project includes only a few samples, it is possible to combine them with those of a different experiment.

Cost calculations for 3´-mRNA sequencing running on HiSeq 2500 in High Output Mode (1x50bp). Please consider that these estimations are suitable for larger sample sizes only as the used flow cell contains 8 lanes which have to be loaded with a sufficient amount of samples.

Whole Exome Sequencing (WES)
Whole exome sequencing enables deep-sequencing of coding sequences of the genome. The aim of this approach is to detect genetic variants which could have an effect on protein sequence and function. Whole exome sequencing is usually done on the HiSeq 2500 in High Output Mode with a read length of 2x125bp. For an appropriate coverage of 80-100 fold, 7-8 samples are multiplexed per lane.
The cost calculations consider the options that the libraries are either prepared by the customer or by the NGS Core Facility. Here, it is generally possible to use different sample preparation kits.
