Emerging Technologies: Identifying apoptotic cells and cells carrying extracellular vesicles in vivo using imaging flow cytometry and deep learning @ Small lecture hall, Biomedical Center I, Campus Venusberg, University of Bonn
Jun 3 @ 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm

We cordially invite all students and researchers to the talk of

Dr. Jan Kranich

“Identifying apoptotic cells and cells carrying extracellular vesicles in vivo

using imaging flow cytometry and deep learning”

Time: June 03, 2019, 5:00 pm

Location: Small lecture hall, Biomedical Center I, Campus Venusberg, University of Bonn

The Lecture Series Emerging Technologies

The lecture series ‘Emerging Technologies’ brings together leading experts on emerging technologies with researchers and students at the University of Bonn. The lecture series stimulates discussions on the latest developments and cutting-edge applications of technologies available at the core facilities of the Bonn Technology Campus.

Snacks and beverages will be provided after the lecture. There will be plenty of opportunities to talk to the speaker and get in touch with the core facility scientists.

Please contact the organizers if you are interested in meeting the speaker before the lecture.

Wed
Workshop: Mass Spectrometry KW37 @ IBMB
Sep 11 – Sep 13 all-day

Place: Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Nussallee 11, 53115 Bonn

Audience: PhD students of BigS Drugs, Neuroscience,  and Immunosciences and Infection. Other members of UKB or University of Bonn please contact Marc Sylvester (masse@uni-bonn.de).

Aim: Basic understanding of mass spectrometry and its applications in life sciences. Training on preparation of biological samples for sensitive mass spectrometric analyses.

Topics:
– Introduction to mass spectrometry principles and hardware
– Preparation techniques of samples for mass spectrometry
– Measurement of samples by MALDI-TOF and ESI-Iontrap techniques
– Data processing and interpretation
– Identification of a protein by fingerprint analysis and by peptide fragmentation
– Identification of multiple proteins from a complex protein mixture
– Identification of posttranslational modifications
– introduction to current topics and literature

Requirements: Basic knowledge of protein biochemistry

There will be two consecutive workshops in September with space for about 6 participants each. Members of the three graduate schools BIGS DrugS, Neuroscience, and Immunosciences and Infection will have priority.
